KUALA LUMPUR: She tossed and turned in bed the night before the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) 2017 results were released.
Sharifah Zeynah Al Hadad was worried as she found the Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTs) questions in the History and Add Maths papers in the exam last year pretty tough.
“Many of the questions didn’t feel like they were related to the subjects,” said the former SMK Convent Bukit Nanas, Kuala Lumpur student.
Sharifah Zeynah who obtained 8A+ and 3As in the SPM said she spent four hours on week days and another eight hours over the weekend on her revision.
Sharifah Zeynah, who wants to study medicine dedicated her achievement to her teachers, citing them as an “amazing” support system.
A total of 228 SMK Convent Bukit Nanas students sat for the SPM 2017 examination, with 16 obtaining straight As, eight with 8As, seven with 9As and 10 obtained 10As.
Sharing similar sentiments with Sharifah Zeynah was Pravena Sreetharan, who obtained 10As and 1C.
“I got a C for Add Maths but I will not let it bring me down as the paper was tough, especially the HOTs questions.
“I could not see the relation between the questions and the subject,” she said.
