KOTA KINABALU: French tourist Thiery Brethes was preparing to sleep before his hike up the peak of Mount Kinabalu in the wee hours of the morning when an earthquake shook the Ranau district.
The 44-year-old said he and his family felt severe shaking and heard loud rumblings at the Panar Laban resthouse, some 3,200m above sea level, at about 9pm on Thursday.
