Guan Eng: Pakatan to implement two-term limit, but effect only from GE14 onwards

GEORGE TOWN: Penang will limit the term of Chief Minister to two terms even if Pakatan Harapan doesn't take over Putrajaya.

Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng (pic) said that the limit would take effect after the coming general election.

"The term of Chief Minister in Penang will be limited to two even if Pakatan doesn't take over Putrajaya," said Lim at  a press conference in Komtar on Wednesday.

Pakatan Hatapan has agreed to limit the term of Prime Minister, Menteri Besar and Chief Minister to two terms if it captures Putrajaya in the coming general elections.

However the two terms that Guan Eng has already served do not come into the equation, allowing him to serve another two full terms.
