CYBERJAYA: The Inland Revenue Board (IRB) should opt for a more open approach and not be overzealous in its tax enforcement efforts, said Second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani.

He said aside from tackling the challenges of perception involving issues such as the “zealous taxman”, it should engage with professional bodies, tax practitioners, employers and the public to improve education and awareness of taxation.
