SHAH ALAM: Datuk Seri Azmin Ali said PAS assemblymen can speak directly with the district officer in their respective constituencies about their annual development allocations.
“I have received many letters from various assemblymen on the subject, and we will go through the process and make sure they comply with all the requirements,” said the Selangor Mentri Besar.
Selangor PAS commissioner Sallehen Mukhyi told a press conference on Wednesday that the state’s 13 assemblymen have yet to receive the annual allocation for their respective constituencies.
Azmin, who spoke to reporters after attending a local inquiry by the Election Commission (EC) on its re-delineation exercise at a hotel here, added that once the process was complete, the PAS assemblymen’s allocations would be immediately approved.
On the EC’s public hearing, Azmin who presented his submission, said the new boundaries the commission wanted to implement breached the principles of the Federal Constitution.
He said the proposed new boundaries would not only create an imbalance in the number of voters between constituencies but also threaten to create single-race constituencies.
Azmin said the onus was on the EC to look into the matter and ensure the changes adhere to the provisions of the Federal Constitution.
