PETALING JAYA: One common logo will be used by all Pakatan Harapan component parties during the upcoming 14th General Election.
Pakatan chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said the logo would be chosen from any of its four component parties, namely PKR, DAP, Parti Amanah Negara or Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Pribumi).
“We will use one logo as our identification during the general election,” he said at a press conference yesterday.
Dr Mahathir said Pakatan has not yet decided what logo the Opposition pact will be using, but he said all four component parties have agreed to contest under the same logo.
Until a consensus is reached on which logo will be used and the decision is approved by its leadership, Dr Mahathir said they cannot announce which logo has been chosen.
Dr Mahathir said the decision to use a common logo during the general election will be carried out whether or not the Registrar of Societies (RoS) approves or rejects Pakatan’s application to register itself as a coalition.
Pakatan has filed a suit against the RoS for a declaration on the status of the registration of the party.
He said Pakatan has yet to hear from the RoS on the status of the application since submitting it in July last year.
“We hope to hear the court’s decision by Thursday,” Dr Mahathir said.
