Stay united, BN leaders urged

KUALA LUMPUR: Barisan Nasional component party leaders and members must stay united against the Opposition, says Barisan secretary-general Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor (pic).

He said Barisan needed to find out why the party lost to the Opposition in the Klang Valley during the last general election and work hard to regain the seats.

“We have been the elected representatives here for years and there must be a reason why we lost. Look back and figure out why the rakyat chose the Opposition to lead them.

“Ask the rakyat what they want and assist them,” Tengku Adnan said during a 1Wilayah Kenduri in Lembah Pantai here yesterday.

He also urged the Barisan component party leaders to inform the community about the achievements of their respective parties for the people.

“Please tell your community what we (Barisan) have carried out. What have we not done or given to the Chinese and Indian communities?” he added.

Tengku Adnan, who is also Federal Territories Minister, said the Barisan government had carried out many projects for the people such as new vernacular schools and affordable housing.

He advised the people not to be taken in by the empty promises of the Opposition.

“Let our record speak for itself. Give us back the mandate so that we can carry out more projects that will benefit the people,” he said.
