JOHOR BARU: Outgoing Tebrau MP Datuk Khoo Soo Siang says he will do his best to ensure that MCA retains its seat in the upcoming general election.
He said although he preferred a candidate from the division, he would abide by the party’s decision as he wanted Barisan Nasional and MCA to continue holding the seat.
“I have told my Tebrau MCA members and whoever I meet not to resort to sabotage. For me, the party is more important,’’ he said at a Chinese New Year open house in Desa Cemerlang here yesterday.
Khoo added that he had been serving the Tebrau constituency for the past 18 years in various capacities such as MP, senator and councillor.
MCA vice-president Datuk Dr Hou Kok Chong is expected to contest the seat.
