High Court sets Thursday for decision on bid to strike out Tawfik's RUU355 challenge

KUALA LUMPUR: The High Court will on Thursday give its decision on an application to strike out a suit by moderation advocate Mohamed Tawfik Ismail, who sought to challenge PAS' Private Member's Bill.

The Private Member's Bill, better known as RUU355, seeks to amend the Syariah Courts (Criminal Jurisdiction) Act 1965 to give the court the power to mete out harsher punishments.
