JOHOR BARU: Authorities are facing an uphill battle to rid the country’s roads of illegal motorcycle racers or mat rempit.

Malaysian Crime Prevention Foundation (MCPF) senior vice­-chairman Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye said many people have spoken out against the mat rempit menace over the years but nothing effective has been done to stop it.
