KOTA KINABALU: Parti Warisan Sabah has lodged a police report over alleged insinuations by a federal minister that it is a "party of pirates" and out to claim ancestral rights to the state.

Warisan secretary-general Loretto Padua lodged a police report Wednesday (Feb 14) at the Karamunsing police headquarters over the remarks, which were allegedly made during a Chinese New Year gathering here.

Padua said he had provided police with a transcript of the speech as well as the audio to allow for investigations.

He alleged that several remarks in the speech were designed to scare the public about Warisan.
