PEKAN: Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak believes the recent announcement that Malaysia experienced a 5.9% GDP growth in the last quarter of 2017 is proof that the country has managed to share its wealth among its people.

The Prime Minister said that the figure shows that the country's economy is one of the highest-performing globally.

"You have the IMF (International Monetary Fund), World Economic Forum and Bloomberg, who say that Malaysia is on the way to do even better," said Najib.

"These are the words of world economic bodies and experts in the field who say that the country's economy is well-managed, and with this, the wealth of the country can be shared with the people.

"Those who say that the country is bankrupt are lying," he said.

Najib was speaking during his "Kongsi Kasih" visit at the Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Convention Hall here on Wednesday (Feb 14).
