KUALA LANGAT: Standing tall and beautiful, a huge paper lantern of the brown earth dog was the pivotal attraction at the Fo Guang Shan Dong Zen Temple in Jenjarom here.
The lantern as well as dozens of other lanterns at the temple premises were lit-up on Wednesday evening to launch the temple's annual Chinese New Year Lantern and Flora Festival.
The lanterns were symbolically lit by Transport Minister and MCA president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lay.
This year's theme revolved around loyalty and honour to commemorate the Year of The Dog.
The main lantern of the dog is 10 metres tall and is able to rotate 360 degrees.
Volunteers spent several months to build the lantern which has several thousands of LED lights inside.
