KOTA KINABALU: A year after a catamaran carrying Chinese tourists capsized on the first day of Chinese New Year, boat operators have put in extra safety measures.
One of the operators, Summer Cruise Holiday, has equipped its vessels with the Automatic Identification System (AIS) and radio, which allows authorities to detect and contact them in case of emergencies, said its person-in-charge Zoe Ting.
