IPOH: A joint raid by the National Anti-Drugs Agency (AADK) and the police saw the arrest of 55 drug users at eight locations here.
Perak AADK enforcement assistant director Azman Hashim said the operation started on Monday (Feb 12) at 5.30am and ended at 5.30am on Tuesday (Feb 13).
He said the most of the drug users were caught at drug hideouts in Chemor, Jelapang, Tambun, Tanjung Rambutan, Ulu Kuang, Manjoi, Silibin and at a karaoke outlet in Medan Ipoh.
"Of the 55 drug users, 45 were men and 10 were women. Their ages ranged between 19 and 66 years old," said Azman.
He said that the type of drugs that were found included opiates like heroin and other drugs, including methamphetamine and ganja.
"We will apply for a court order to remand those arrested for 14 days for investigation," he added.
