PETALING JAYA: Joe Flizzow (pic) may be a man of few words but he expresses them where they count.
In many of his songs, the rapper is outspoken about current affairs and socio-economic issues.
It is no wonder that when a charity campaign such as #DaretoCare was brought to his attention, Flizzow voiced his full support.
Joe said no matter how busy one gets, it is always good to spare time for charity.
“No gesture is too small. It’s like ‘planting a seed’, it may not seem like much, but when people come together to do it, you can ‘grow a forest’,” he added.
Joe hailed the campaign as a platform for families to do charity together.
“Bring your children with you when you purchase the goods, let your kids do the packing, and share the important values of giving and let them know what people live without.”
Joe also stressed the need for charity initiatives to happen continuously.
“Charity work can never be enough,” he said during an interview.
Joe and his team gathered dried food items to share with the beneficiaries of the campaign. They are also collecting stationery and art supplies.
As a person from the art scene, the singer encourages children to pick up any form of art as an avenue for them to freely express themselves.
#DaretoCare is a joint charity initiative championed by Star Media Group and SkyWorld Development Group to address the needs of welfare homes in Malaysia.
The campaign encourages the public to give and help the less fortunate by filling in gifts or donations of essential items in the given brown paper bags.
The filled bags can be dropped off at SkyWorld’s property galleries in Kuala Lumpur (Sentul, Setiawangsa, Bukit Jalil and Setapak) or at Menara Star, from now until Thursday, where the developer will collect and distribute the items to selected welfare homes.
Alternatively, donors can get the paper bags at any of the property galleries, or drop off the donations directly.
As a token of appreciation to donors, SkyWorld will give away GSC movie tickets when they make their donations (terms and conditions apply) at their property galleries.
