Chong: It takes more than good grades to be teachers

SEREMBAN: SPM leavers aspiring to become teachers must possess excellent people’s skills and have actively participated in co-curricular programmes to be accepted into government training institutes.

Deputy Education Minister Datuk Chong Sin Woon said he received many complaints from parents that their academically inclined children had failed to secure a place after being unable to clear a psychometric test to gauge an individual’s mental capability and behaviour, as part of the admission interview.
