Najib: BN will ensure Johor remains its bastion

MUAR: Barisan Nasional will ensure Johor remains its bastion and will not allow the Opposition to wrest the state from the ruling coalition.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak urged Johoreans to continue supporting Barisan if they want to see Johor progress and

"I'm sending a strong signal not only to Johoreans but also Malaysians in other states.

"If you want changes, are you willing to pay the price for changing the Government which has proven that it is able to deliver promises made to the rakyat?" he said in his speech at a meet the people session at Bukit Mor near on Friday.

Najib said that as part-Johorean (through his mother Tun Rahah Noah, who was born in Muar), he would not allow Johor to fall to the Opposition.

Also present at the event were Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, Rural and Regional Development Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob and Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Razali Ibrahim, who is also Muar MP.

At the event Najib also announced a RM100mil allocation (RM50mil from Tenaga Nasional Bhd and RM50 from the Government) to install 50,000 LED street lights and that the project would benefit some 2.5 million villagers.

Najib said he had instructed TNB to install the street lights over a period 10 to 14 weeks or before the start of Hari Raya Aidilfitri this year.
