Final suspect in Kg Rapat gang robbery nabbed

IPOH: The sixth and final suspect believed to be involved in a gang robbery with four policemen at Kampung Rapat has been arrested.
 
Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Ali Tamby said police arrested the 28-year-old man at a house in Kampung Serdang Permai in Simpang Pulai here on Thursday (Jan 18) at about 1am.
 
“A check with our records showed that the unemployed man was believed to be involved in several cases including mischief.
 
“He is also wanted for a drug-related case in his hometown in Bandar Seri Jempol, Negri Sembilan,” he added.
 
It was reported that six men including four policemen were involved in a gang robbery on Dec 27.
 
The suspects allegedly entered a 54-year-old victim’s house and robbed him of about RM12,300.
 
On Tuesday (Jan 16), the fifth suspect, a policeman, was arrested when he surrendered at the Ipoh police station. He is currently under remand.
 
Four other suspects were arrested last month and were on police bail.
