GOPENG: The growth of Chinese education was heavily hampered during the mid 1980s when Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was education minister, says Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai.
"There were all sorts of problems to the extent that it was so hard for us to increase the number of Chinese schools or move them to better locations," said the MCA president of the de facto Opposition leader's stint as education minister at the time.
