Rural roads turn to rivers after floods in Sarawak's Beluru district

MIRI: Rural roads in parts of Beluru district in northern Sarawak continue to be inundated with flood waters due to incessant rain over the past 24 hours.

Some of these village roads look more like rivers after torrential rain.

For the second day running, flood waters have also forced 105 pupils of SK Sg Seputi and their teachers to miss class on Friday morning.

Miri Civil Defence unit chief Mohd Hazle Shah said even the road leading to the school was flooded up to the knee.

The school is located in the Beluru district about 80km from Miri.
