PUTRAJAYA: Parti Cinta Malaysia (PCM) claims it has unearthed new evidence of alleged corruption in the Penang undersea tunnel project.

Its vice-president Datuk Huan Cheng Guan submitted several documents to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) headquarters here on Friday (Jan 5), saying that these were obtained from "sources".

Huan claimed that the Penang government had yet to respond to questions posed by him and others over the project.

Among others, he questioned why the state government had allowed a Penang tunnel Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) company to pre-sell state land and what happened to the yet-to-be-completed RM305mil feasibility and detailed design studies.

Huan also claimed that he had obtained information about a project on land pre-sold by the SPV that appeared to benefit a privately-owned property developer, and questioned why the state-owned Penang Development Corporation (PDC) was not given a stake in the multi-billion ringgit project.

"I hope the MACC can investigate and find if there is any wrongdoing or corruption," said Huan.

This is the second time Huan has lodged a report with the MACC on the case, with the first report made on July 21, 2017.

He made a police report in Penang on July 17, calling for investigations on the same case.
