PUTRAJAYA: Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad (pic) claims PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang is a "traitor" who only seeks to split the Opposition vote after the Islamist party announced it would be contesting 130 seats in the upcoming general election.
"He (Abdul Hadi) knows very well he is going to lose most of the seats. But he also knows he will help Barisan Nasional win by splitting the Opposition vote. That is his intention and that is not Islamic. In Malay, we'd call him pengkhianat (traitor)," the Pakatan Harapan chairman said at a press conference here on Wednesday (Jan 3).
