Remand extended for duo in Buddha statue theft case

GEORGE TOWN: The remand of the 36-year-old antique dealer and his 29-year-old female friend who allegedly stole the Reclining Buddha statue from the Penang Buddhist Association has been extended by two days.

George Town CID chief Deputy Supt Helmi Sulaiman said the duo were brought to the court for extension of remand after the first remand expired on Sunday (Dec 24).
