KLUANG: A man hopes of solving a dispute with his fiancé ended in a sour manner after he was ambushed by a group of men leaving him with injuries.
Kluang OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Laham said the 26-year-old victim had met with his fiancé at a restaurant in Layang-Layang town area at around 4.30pm on Dec 15.
“When the victim attempted to approach the woman, a group of at least 10 men showed up and immediately pushed him before hitting him.
“We believe that the incident was triggered by the victim’s constant harassing of his fiancé through messages he left either on Facebook or Whatsapp, which she did not replied,” he said here on Tuesday (Dec 19).
ACP Mohamad added that the victim had also shamed his fiancé by claiming the woman owe him money on a Facebook post.
He pointed out that following the attack, the victim suffered injuries to his head and body where the police have classified the case under Section 324 of the Penal Code.
“We are tracking down the suspects involved in the attack,” he said adding that those with information should contact the state police hotline at 07-2212999.
