Dr M lobbies Govt for Anwar’s release

PETALING JAYA: Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has called for the unconditional release of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who was first jailed for graft and sodomy, when the former was in power.

In a joint statement yesterday, the former prime minister and Anwar’s international legal adviser Kimberley Motley said they had a “fruitful meeting” on Tuesday regarding the former opposition leader’s current predicament.
