KOTA KINABALU: A fishing trip went awry for four fishermen when their boat  sustained an engine failure forcing them to drift at sea for about 12 hours.

They were rescued by a Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) patrol vessel amid rough seas off Labuan.
