JOHOR BARU: Two Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) students have contracted tuberculosis.
Johor Health, Environment, Education and Information Committee chairman Datuk Ayub Rahmat confirmed this on Thursday (Dec 7).
He said close-contact screenings would be conducted on all the students in the patients' class.
"Screenings will also be held at two hostels within the campus, Kolej Tun Fatimah and Kolej Perdana," he added.
Ayub said the screenings would be in full force next week.
"We are working with UTM to identify and count the number of students involved," he added.
He also said investigations by the Health Department's public health unit as well as the Johor Baru and Kulai health offices into the cases were still ongoing.
