Cops on hunt for three suspects behind Ara Damansara robbery

PETALING JAYA: Police are looking for three suspects believed to be behind the assault and robbery of a woman in Ara Damansara.

The incident, which was recorded on a nearby CCTV, shows the woman walking to the passenger side of her car to retrieve her handbag.

As she shuts the door, a blue car is seen stopping behind her vehicle.

A man dressed in a black shirt and pants darts out of the rear right passenger door of the blue car and confronts the victim.

He is seen grabbing her handbag but she refuses to let go.

The suspect then kicks her in the stomach and pulls the bag away from her.

He gets back into the vehicle and the car is driven away.

The whole incident lasted less than 20 seconds.

Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Zani Che Din confirmed the case, adding that police were investigating it as gang robbery.

"We believe three suspects were involved in the robbery which occurred at Jalan PJU 1A/10, Ara Damansara at around 7.30am on Thursday.

"The woman claimed to have been robbed of RM200 cash, her mobile phone and several ATM and identification cards," he said.
