PETALING JAYA: One cannot describe the joy felt when a former street puppy is adopted and that is why rescuers are willing to spend a bulk of their time conducting pet adoption drives.
"You experience a sense of hope and accomplishment," said Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better (MDDB) adoption coordinator Christine Lai.
Lai has been conducting adoption drives for rescued street puppies almost every Sunday for the past nine years.
She will be holding an adoption drive at Citta Mall, Ara Damansara, here from 11am to 6pm.
"We have about 10 puppies in need of homes and we hope they will be able to get adopters today," said Lai.
Lai also invited dog lovers to visit the adoption drive to play with the puppies.
"It doesn't matter if you are not adopting but please come and visit," said Lai, adding the puppies get very excited upon seeing visitors.
According to Lai, MDDB was also seeking financial help to complete building its sanctuary in Rawang.
"We hope to finish construction by end of December and need about RM60,000 more to complete the job," she added.
Those wanting to donate in cash and kind can drop off their contributions at the event.
