JOHOR BARU: CIMB Foundation has launched CIMB MOZEK - a holiday camp in collaboration with Teach For Malaysia (TFM) - to promote integration and unity among schoolchildren.
The three-week camp will provide a platform for primary and secondary school students to benefit from a specially-curated syllabus designed to instil respect and better inter-ethnic understanding among students.
The camp, which will run from Nov 26 to Dec 14, will see the participation of 543 children to gain exposure in cooperative learning and inter-ethnic appreciation, facilitated by 59 teachers.
CIMB Group Holdings Bhd Datuk Seri Nazir Razak said CIMB was committed to nurturing diversity through the camp, which promotes students’ cultural awareness and their appreciation of the diversity as Malaysia’s collective strength.
“Children are our most precious assets, which makes our teachers the most important asset managers, whose crucial role is also recognised and enhanced to facilitate diversity learning at schools based on the specially curated MOZEK syllabus,” he said.
Nazir, who is also CIMB Foundation trustee, said this during the launching of the camp which was officiated by Johor Permaisuri Raja Zarith Sofiah Sultan Idris Shah at SMK Taman Scientex on Thursday.
