Siblings rescued from blaze by four cops

SHAH ALAM: Two siblings who were trapped in a fire at a condominium in Seksyen 9 here were rescued by four policemen.

Shah Alam OCPD Asst Comm Shafien Mamat said the incident occurred at about 10.30am on Wednesday.

He said that the four policemen who arrived at the scene, broke down the front door before entering the condominium unit on the fourth floor and managed to rescue a 29-year-old man, who was trapped on the balcony, and his 13-year-old sister who was trapped in a bedroom.



ACP Shafien said that the two victims were then brought down from the condominium unit by the policemen before firemen arrived and managed put out the blaze.

He added that the 13-year-old girl was sent to Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital for treatment.

ACP Shafien said that the cause of the fire was still under investigation.

It is learnt that the fire broke out at the kitchen of the condominium unit.
