PETALING JAYA: A security service van heist that lasted only seconds saw the robbers speeding away with about RM150,000 in cash.

Two men opened the side door of the vehicle in front of a Maybank outlet in Sri Serdang, and helped themselves to three bags of money, before taking off on a motorcycle, around 10.30am yesterday.

Both suspects were wearing their helmets during the time of the incident.

The ease of the caper has aroused suspicions that the robbery could have been an inside job, as no weapons were believed to have been used during the incident.

Serdang OCPD Asst Comm Megat Mohamad Aminuddin Megat Alias, who confirmed the case said: “As of now, we are holding four of the security workers from the company for questioning. The surrounding CCTV footage is also being looked at. Losses are estimated to be in the range of RM150,000.

“Investigations are still ongoing.”
