PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Digital Association (MDA)'s all-new d Awards, which recognise and honour talent and brands that embrace technologies, are now open for entries.
In a statement Friday, MDA president Serm Teck Choon (pic) said the d Awards 2018 will showcase the best work as it is the only industry award event that measures the impact of effective use of digital in a successful advertising.
"Over the years, we have seen a rise in the standards and quality of campaigns and work. The d Awards will showcase the best work and in the process, benchmark the progress of the industry," he said.
MDA vice president Nick Drew said that the d Awards 2018 welcome technical and creative digital works from any communication discipline.
“There is little doubt that digital marketing is now mainstream. It has been too long that we, as an
industry, have not recognized and celebrated the best work in the digital space,” he said.
For the first time ever, the d Awards 2018 will also feature recognition for young individuals, namely The Young Digital Person of the Year Award.
The award is for a person under the age of 30 who demonstrates exceptional measurable results in digital advertising.
“Given the broader industry challenges, it is important that we encourage the younger individuals to mature and excel.
“This award, we hope, will motivate others to enter the industry and contribute towards its growth. If nothing else just a great opportunity to celebrate great people,” Drew said.
Campaigns that were executed in Malaysia between Jan 1, 2017 and Dec 31, 2017 are entitled for submission.
The early bird and extended submission deadlines are set for Dec 29, 2017 and Jan 5, 2018 by 5pm respectively. Rules, entry kit and other details are available on www.d-awards.com.my.
