Woman among four remanded over probe into murder of car wash operator

PORT DICKSON: Four suspects including a woman have had their remand extended over probe into the kidnapping and murder of a car wash operator from Seremban.

Magistrate Siti Khairiah Abd Razak allowed the four aged between 22 and 39 to be remanded for seven days from Thursday.

S. Sugumaran, 29, was initially reported as missing by his family members after he failed to show up at the car wash where he worked in Ampangan on Sept 13.

Police then detained a suspect who led them to a cemetery near Taman Saga in Siliau.

The victim's  remains were buried in a metre-deep grave.

In a follow-up operation, police detained nine people including a woman to assist in investigations.

Four men have since been released.

The case is being investigated under section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
