Upin and Ipin treat for boy with rare affliction

KUALA LUMPUR: Four-year-old Muhammad Aqif, who suffers from a rare skin disorder known as epidermolysis bullosa (EB), got his wish to meet cartoon characters Upin and Ipin, during a meet-and-greet session in Ampang.

His mother Umi Umeera Mazlan, 30, said Aqif had been watching the show every day since he was two. “If I even try to change the channel, he will cry,” she said. EB, which is a genetic disorder, causes Aqif’s skin to blister and tear even at the lightest touch.
