Comprehensive flood mitigation plan needed, says IEM

PETALING JAYA: A comprehensive and integrated flood mitigation master plan is needed to cater for development planning in Penang and Kedah, said the Institute of Engineers Malaysia (IEM).

IEM president Dr Tan Yean Chin said the proposed master plan should include action plans for flood mitigation and prevention for current and future developments, changes in the use of land as well as climate change factors.
