Gambling den hidden above sundry shop busted in Selayang

PETALING JAYA: A gambling den, hidden above a sundry shop, has been busted in Selayang Baru.

Gombak OCPD Asst Comm Ali Ahmad said that the den had previously been raided before, and had been under surveillance since then.

When police arrived at the scene on Wednesday afternoon, the shop was empty, but some equipment was left behind.

The raid was conducted simultaneously in four other locations in the district, including Batu Caves and Taman Sri Gombak. Over 40 computers and equipment used for online gambling were seized.

ACP Ali urged members of the public with information on such activities to contact the authorities directly, in order to curb illegal gambling.
