Department ready to handle expected floods


Mounting risk: Some of the students of Sekolah Kebangsaan Bukit Pinang returning home after their classes were suspended following rising floodwater, measuring one metre in height.

ALOR SETAR: The Kelantan Fire and Rescue Department is gearing up for floods that are expected to hit from this month until December.

Director Nazili Mahmood said 1,127 fire personnel and volunteers are undergoing physical and mental training to prepare for the floods.
