KUALA LUMPUR: The city has a new police chief in Comm Datuk Mazlan Lazim (pic) following the latest reshuffle in the force.
He replaces Comm Datuk Amar Singh, who is now the commercial crimes department director at Bukit Aman.
Comm Mazlan, who was formerly the Kuala Lumpur deputy police chief, is expected to take on his new role on Nov 9.
The new city deputy police chief is Deputy Comm Datuk Zainuddin Yaacob who formerly held the same role in Perak.
Meanwhile, former Bukit Aman director of commercial crimes Comm Datuk Seri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani will now lead the Bukit Aman strategic and technological resources department as its director.
Deputy Comm Datuk Saiful Azly Kamaruddin will assist Comm Amar in the commercial crimes department as deputy director (investigations) while former Melaka deputy police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Ruslan Hassan will take on a new role as the deputy director of syndicated crimes at the Bukit Aman crime investigations department.
Former deputy director of management (service and personnel) Deputy Comm Datuk Fatimah Abd Hamid will also take up a new role as deputy director of the crime prevention and community safety department in Bukit Aman.
