SEREMBAN: Any individual conspiring to force Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim to step down as FAM president has to be insane, says Khairy Jamaluddin (pic).
The Youth and Sports Minister said if there was such a conspiracy, he too would fight it till the end.
"If there is a conspiracy, then it must be the work of mad people.
"The FAM president has only been recently elected and has, in a short time, brought many positive changes.
"In fact, we are already seeing the results and improvement," he said after launching the 48th edition of the Yuen Loong Gold Cup badminton tournament at the Ma Hwa Hall here Friday.
The Tunku Mahkota of Johor on Wednesday claimed that certain individuals were finding ways to force him to step down as they wanted the position.
Tunku Ismail, who was elected president in March, claimed these individuals were already making plans to remove FAM's Football Malaysia Limited Liability Partnership chief executive officer Kevin Ramalingam.
Khairy said Tunku Ismail was elected to the post and he should be allowed to continue heading the national football association.
