Vida's 'I Am Me' lyric video hits 8.5mil views on YouTube

PETALING JAYA: Love it or hate it, cosmetics tycoon Datuk Seri Vida's catchy single 'I Am Me' is a hit on YouTube with over 8.5 million views in only two and a half months.

Published on July 13, the 'I Am Me' official lyric video received mixed reactions with 67,000 likes and 37,000 dislikes.

The music video, produced by KRU Music, sees Vida in her signature bejeweled tiara dancing in front of a pink background as the lyrics to the song appear on the screen. 

In the comments section, several netizens said the video was confusing while others commended Vida on her self-confidence.

Many also congratulated her for notching 8.5 million views.

"Congratulations Datuk Seri Vida! It is a catchy song and it will surely get stuck in everybody's mind," said Yanti Suhaimi.

Also known as Datuk Seri Dr Hasmiza Othman, Vida celebrated the launch of her official "I Am Me" music video on Wednesday with a RM26,000 cake topped with Swarovski diamonds.

She arrived to the launch event at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur in a fuchsia Lamborghini, dressed in pink striped pyjamas with feathered sleeves and a matching pair of bright pink indoor slippers.

The getup was one of the costumes in the official music video that was shot in her home in Ipoh.

Known for her luxurious lifestyle, Vida was recently slammed by netizens after a scene from the music video of her bathing in a bathtub full of money went viral.

She has reportedly spent RM1mil on the 'I Am Me' music video.
