KUALA NERUS: The PAS election machinery will not assist any party outside of Gagasan Sejahtera, says its deputy president.

Datuk Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said this was because PAS “no longer has ties with our previous partners”.

“We only have a relationship with those within Gagasan Sejahtera.

“Our commitment, manpower and money will be used to help make PAS’ agenda a success from now on,” he told reporters after launching the party election machinery at the Fastaqim 2.0 rally here yesterday.

Gagasan Sejahtera is an informal coalition of opposition political parties formed initially as a Third Force in March 2016. Besides PAS, its other members are Parti Ikatan Bangsa Malaysia and Berjasa.

The campaign of the alliance focuses mainly on PAS political matters.

Tuan Ibrahim called on PAS members and supporters to stand united and focus on delivering victory in the next general election.

“We have to believe there are no other rules or system that can save a multi-racial and multi-cultural country other than the rules passed down by God,” he said.

The event held at Pantai Tok Jembal here drew a massive crowd of PAS members and supporters from across the country who began arriving from Friday.

Tuan Ibrahim said the rally was to galvanise the strength of the party before the next general election.

“We are also launching the party’s national election machinery.

“We are sounding our war drums,” he said.

Roads leading to the beach have been gridlocked with droves of PAS supporters clad in green, making their way to the rally.
