GEORGE TOWN: A suspected drug pusher believed to be involved in a murder in Penang was arrested in Kajang, Selangor.

He was hiding out in a friend’s house when police got a tip-off on his whereabouts.

George Town OCPD Asst Comm Anuar Omar said Kajang police’s CID Serious Crimes Unit (D9) caught the suspect nicknamed Uchee, 38, at his friend’s house in Batu 9 at about 3am yesterday.

“He was sent back to Penang for remand,” he said, adding that the court granted a seven-day remand order until Oct 4.

His suspected accomplice known as Adik, 23, was picked up from his rented house in Air Itam on Monday.

The duo allegedly assaulted 33-year-old wallpaper shop worker Lim Kok Boon with helmets at Kampung Melayu flats in Air Itam last Friday.

Lim succumbed to his injuries three days later.

It was reported that two men were packing drugs in the 14th floor rubbish room when Lim walked in on them.

The men quickly threw away the drugs because they thought Lim was a policeman. They attacked Lim when they saw he was not.
