EC: Only one in 10 varsity students approached signed up to vote

PUTRAJAYA: Fewer than 10% of the 30,000 university students approached by the Election Commission (EC) have actually signed up as voters.

Its chairman Tan Sri Mohd Hashim Abdullah said voter registration programmes were held at public varsities this year and only 2,700 students signed up.
