GEORGE TOWN: Traffic heading towards the Penang bridge was almost at a standstill with bumper to bumper traffic for about four kilometres on the Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway.

A downpour in several parts on the island at around 4pm Wednesday caused the gridlock with drivers heading towards the bridge and Bayan Lepas caught in the snarl for almost one and a half hours.
