IPOH: A group of youths made a giant Malaysian flag and draped it over the iconic "Ipoh" sign that greets incoming motorists at Simpang Pulai here.

They even documented their "feat" in a one-minute clip, which shows them purchasing the material, putting it together, painting the Malaysian flag, and placing it over the sign.

The flag is believed to have been placed over the sign on Saturday, in conjunction with Malaysia Day.

However, checks on the sign located at KM294.4 of the North-South Expressway near Simpang Pulai showed there was no flag present.

The Ipoh City Council and the police are investigating the matter.

Earlier this year, a group of eight youths had climbed up the iconic Ipoh sign perched on a hilltop that overlooks the Kuala Kangsar road, near the Gunung Lang area.

Police recorded statements from the group over their stunt, photographs of which went viral online.

It is yet to be determined if this is the same group of people who put flag up the flag.
