Traffic crawls, flash floods following downpour

Traffic stalled near the Taman Tun Dr Ismail LRT station, heading towards Petaling Jaya.

PETALING JAYA: A heavy downpour on Wednesday evening resulted in flash floods and traffic jams in many areas in the Klang Valley.

Star Media Traffic reported at 5pm of a crawl along the MRR2 on Jalan Ampang from Taman Hillview to Tesco Ampang.

Motorists can also expect delays in both directions between Desa Tun Razak and Bandar Tasek Selatan.

Slow traffic was reported on the ELITE highway, from Shah Alam to USJ- Seafield and in both directions Lebuhraya Cheras- Kajang between Taman Connaught and Taman Kota Cheras.

Plusline on Twitter reported of an incident involving a stalled lorry at KM21.3 on the NKVE causing congestion from Kota Damansara towards Bukit Lanjan.

A crawl was also reported between Damansara and Subang Jaya .

On the LDP, a flash flood near the turnoff to Jalan Leong Yew Koh and uprooted trees after the Taman Tun Dr Ismail MRT station resulted in a massive crawl.

Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) workers were, however, seen clearing the fallen tree that was obstructing traffic at 4.20pm.

In Sri Hartamas, traffic was at a standstill at 4.30pm due to the heavy rain.
