Tuanku Abdul Halim laid to rest

KUALA LUMPUR: Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah has been laid to rest at the Langgar Royal Mausoleum.

The late Kedah Sultan was laid to rest at 5.18pm on Tuesday. 

Tuanku Abdul Halim passed away at 2.30pm on Monday at the Istana Anak Bukit.

The funeral procession for the late Sultan had earlier left the palace at 2.40pm and the cortege passed through Lebuhraya Darulaman, Jalan Tun Razak and Jalan Langgar before heading to the Langgar Royal Mausoleum.

After being laid to rest, the talkin prayers were recited by Kedah Mufti Datuk Syeikh Fadzil Awang while the tahlil prayers were recited by the Imam Besar of Masjid Zahir, Datuk Syeikh Roslan Abdul Halim.

Tuanku Abdul Halim was to rest beside the grave of Almarhumah Sultanah Bahiyah and his brother, Tunku Abdul Malik Ibni Almarhum Sultan Badlishah.
