Tuanku Abdul Halim's cortege leaves Istana Anak Bukit


ALOR SETAR: The funeral procession for Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah has left Istana Anak Bukit.

Eighty-nine shots were fired as the cortege left the palace at 2.30pm on Tuesday.

The casket bearing the late Kedah Sultan's remains was placed on a "pedati khas" or special palanquin and was pulled by a jeep.

The procession arrived at Lebuhraya Darulaman at 3pm,

The cortege will pass through Jalan Tun Razak and Jalan Langgar before heading to the Langgar Royal Mausoleum where the late Sultan will be laid to rest.

Tuanku Abdul Halim passed away at 2.30pm on Monday at the age of 89 at Istana Anak Bukit.
